  • graphiqSPOT™ is Ambiq’s ultra-low power graphics technology for embedded devices. It combines a hardware-accelerated GPU with an advanced display controller to deliver smooth user interfaces, vector graphics, animations, and high-quality visuals while minimizing power consumption on Ambiq Apollo SoCs. 

  • graphiqSPOT™ is available on Ambiq Apollo SoCs that include a GPU, including the Apollo510 SoC, Apollo4 Plus SoC, Apollo4 Blue Plus SoC, Apollo4 Blue Lite SoC, and Apollo4 Lite SoC. Future Ambiq SoCs with GPU support will also include graphiqSPOT. 

  • graphiqSPOT™ includes a hardware-accelerated GPU with support for vector graphics, anti-aliasing, dithering, frame buffer compression, texture compression, and command lists that reduce CPU workload. These features enable responsive embedded graphical user interfaces (GUIs) while helping extend battery life. 

  • graphiqSPOT™ reduces graphics power consumption by offloading rendering tasks to dedicated graphics hardware, minimizing CPU activity through command lists, and reducing memory bandwidth with frame buffer and texture compression. Its display controller can also store frame buffers in on-chip TCM or SSRAM, reducing accesses to external memory and lowering overall system power. 

  • The graphiqSPOT™ display controller supports up to four composition layers, alpha blending, scaling, and inline frame buffer compression. Frame buffers can be stored in TCM, SSRAM, or external PSRAM, providing flexibility for different embedded display sizes and memory architectures. 

  • graphiqSPOT™ is designed for battery-powered embedded devices that require rich graphical user interfaces (GUIs) without sacrificing energy efficiency. Typical applications include smartwatches and wearables, medical devices, smart home products, consumer IoT devices, industrial IoT (IIoT) equipment, and portable edge AI systems. 

  • Ambiq SoCs featuring graphiqSPOT™, including the Apollo510 SoC, Apollo4 Plus SoC, Apollo4 Blue Plus SoC, Apollo4 Blue Lite SoC, Apollo4 Lite SoC, and the Apollo4 Plus Display Kit, are available through Ambiq’s Where to Buy page and authorized distributors. 

  • No. The graphiqSPOT™ display controller can store frame buffers in on-chip TCM or SSRAM, while also supporting external PSRAM when larger graphics memory is needed. This flexibility helps optimize both power consumption and display performance.
